OAKLEY - There were several multiple winners over the weekend as the District VI returned to Oakley for the final weekend of the regular high school rodeo season before the District Finals in Rupert on June 1-2.

Cassie Vierstra of Filer picked up a pair of wins in goat tying. On Friday night, Vierstra had a time of 7.12 seconds, beating the second place time of 7.74 by Kelsea Krenka of Buhl. In Saturday afternoon's slack event, Sammy Naveran of Buhl recorded the best time of 8.51. Saturday night, Paige Yore of Declo beat Naveran's time with an 8.11 and Vierstra bested Yore with a 6.79.

Vierstra was the fastest in breakaway roping on Saturday at 2.48 seconds bettering the 3.12 of Meghan Tolle of Burley.

Saturday night, Jessea Kack of Filer picked up wins in both barrels and pole bending. Kack was 17.998 in barrels and Kelsie Tolle of Burley was second at 18.409. Tolle was first Friday night with a time of 18.209 beating Kack's time of 18.268. In poles, Kack had a run of 20.793 beating the second place time of 20.943 by Vierstra.

A ride of 59 points in bull riding was good enough for the win Friday night by Cody Wadsworth of Kimberly and a time of 10.59 by Wadsworth won the calf roping on Saturday.

Bailey Tubbs of Filer was the only rider to go the full eight seconds in saddle bronc riding both nights. Tubbs scored a 65 on Friday and was 71 points on Saturday.

Dustin Adams of Raft River and Chase Brice of Declo had a time of 8.10 seconds on Saturday night beating their Friday night winning time of 8.68 in team roping.

Other winners on Friday night were Andrew Taylor of Filer in calf roping (10.86), Raul Hurtado of Oakley in steer wrestling (6.07), Yore in breakaway (2.94) and Hali Stutzman of Kimberly in pole bending (20.617).

Saturday, Tyler Wadsworth of Kimberly won the steer wrestling (8.35) and Colton Bedke of Oakley was the only cowboy to make an 8-second ride in bull riding scoring 59 points.

There were no qualified rides in bareback either night.

For the District Finals in Rupert, action begins at 7 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The Queen Coronation will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
