CSI's Wistrick a First Team All-American
Times-News
Alyssa Wistrick is in a class by herself - literally.
The standout College of Southern Idaho volleyball middle blocker became the only freshman in the nation to earn NJCAA Division I First Team All-America status when the list of the nation's top players was released Tuesday.
Wistrick, who was first among CSI players with 116 blocks and second in kills at 415, helped the Golden Eagles to a 39-13 season and 10th-place finish at the NJCAA National Championships in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Among the 12 players to earn First Team All-America status, including Salt Lake Community College sophomore setter Michaela Hanakova, Wistrick is the only freshman, and one of nine freshmen out of 30 players chosen to the squads.
Salt Lake Community College's Cinthia Silva was named to the All-America Second Team.
