Pat's picks
• Lots going on for Halloween. So much it was tough to pick three. Hollister School presents Halloween Trunk or Treat with a spook alley, costume contest, bobbing for apples, pumpkin carving, book fair, harvest potato bar dinner and more. Bring treats to give to kids from the trunk of your car. Cost is $5 for individuals and $20 for a family of five or more. Open house goes from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and activities go to 7:30 p.m.

• Dress up - or don't - for the Town Tavern and MJD Action Committee Halloween party and fundraiser at 7 p.m. at the Town Tavern, 222 U.S. Highway 30 in Hansen. Admission is $2 if you're in costume and $5 if you're not. There will be a costume contest, karaoke and pool tournament. Proceeds benefit the East End Providers.

• No Halloween is complete without hearing Michael Jackson's "Thriller." Dance students from the College of Southern Idaho will perform the classic in costume at 2 p.m. in front of the Fine Arts Building, weather permitting. It's free and should be strange and fun.

• Or you can turn out the porch lights and go see country legend Ray Price at 8 or 10 p.m. at the Gala Showroom at Cactus Petes Resort Casino, 1385 U.S. Highway 93 in Jackpot, Nev. Tickets are $30 to $40.
