Worship includes blessing for quilts, quiltersOur Savior Lutheran Church will have Communion during worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The service will include a blessing of–quilts and quilters.
Church women have spent nine months sewing quilts, which are then distributed to various places in the Magic Valley area as needs and requests come in. This past year, 89 quilts and 54 children's quilts–have–gone out to Valley House, Mustard Seed–Ministries, the College of Southern Idaho Refugee Center, Salvation Army, Children and Family–Services, Office of Aging and–Pregnancy Crisis Center.
Pastor Stan Hoobing will preach on the theme, "No Hits, No Runs, No Errors" based on Matthew 25:14-30.

Presbyterians host international lunchThe Mission Committee of the First Presbyterian Church will provide lunch for Safe Harbor today at 11 a.m. in the Fireside Lounge at the church, 209 Fifth Ave. N. in Twin Falls.
Worship at 10 a.m. Sunday will be followed by a potluck lunch in the Fellowship Hall following the theme, "Thanksgiving Around the World." Everyone is encouraged to bring a dish from another country to share.

Rupert church hosts Operation Christmas ChildOperation Christmas Child is a wonderful way to share with children all over the world by filling a shoebox with special gifts. The project is under way in the Mini-Cassia area.

Fundraiser planned at Lutheran schoolImmanuel Lutheran School, 2055 Filer Ave. E. in Twin Falls, is hosting a Christmas seasonal event called "Holiday Traditions" from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday in the school gym.
Each classroom has decorated a tree to be donated for a silent auction. In addition to trees, several other items will be available for auction -wreaths, centerpieces, baked goods and more. Bids can be placed any time during school hours and will close at 3 p.m. Friday.

Methodist Church holds turkey dinnerThe Gooding United Methodist Church, 805 Main St., will host its annual turkey dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12.

Radio station, theater host Christmas programLocal Christian-Community Radio Station KUMC and Historic Wilson Theater are joining together to present "Holiday Follies" at 7 p.m. Friday at the Historic Wilson Theater, located on F and Fremont streets in Rupert.
The presentation features the Rupert United Methodist Church Handbell Choir; soloist Rob Newman accompanied by Alan Hale; Alan Hale at the piano; Santa's Kids; 4-Sure Quartet; Snake River Flats Barbershop Chorus; Damian Rodriguez; and other groups. Emcees will be Jalynn Twiss and Gary Schorzman.
The Grand Finale will be singing of "Silent Night."
Freewill donations will be accepted, with proceeds being divided between the radio station KUMC and the Historic Wilson Theater.

Catholic Church hosts Christmas bazaarSt. Jerome's Catholic Church will host its annual Christmas Bazaar from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 22.
The event features more than 20 crafters with Christmas items, jewelry, rocks, doll clothes, children's clothing, handmade purses, candles, blankets, quilts, religious items, home-baked goods and more.
Lunch will be available for $5 per person.

LDS Church presents Latino Christmas showThe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced this year's Latino Christmas program will be held Dec. 5 and 6 in the Tabernacle on Temple Square.
The program, "Recibid al Rey" (Receive a King), is a festive celebration for the entire family. Composed of music, dance and narration, it portrays a Latin American Christmas custom known as "las Posadas." Also included in the program is a special Christmas message by a general authority of the church.
The program is presented entirely in Spanish with translation available via headsets in English and Portuguese.
Three performances, each about 75 minutes long, will be presented at 7 p.m. Dec. 5 and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 6.
Admission is free, but tickets are required. Tickets may be obtained online at
www.lds.org/events or by calling the Conference Center ticket office at 866-537-8457. Tickets may also be obtained in person at the ticket office at Door 4 of the Conference Center. The ticket office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Tickets are limited to six per person.
Those driving to the show should arrive early and park only in designated areas. Because of the popularity of Temple Square programs during the Christmas season, use of public transportation such as TRAX and UTA is encouraged.
Buhl church plans Christmas bazaarThe Buhl United Methodist Church Christmas Bazaar will be held Dec. 13.
