College of Southern Idaho's Woodworking and Welding Show, formerly known as Woodstock, will be held in the Rick Allen Community Room at the Herrett Center for Arts and Science. Auction items can be viewed by the public 1 to 9 p.m. today and at 1 p.m. Saturday. The fundraiser auction begins at 1:45 p.m. Saturday. Items by woodworking and cabinetmaking students include an entertainment center, credenza, library cabinet, gun cabinet, blanket chest, kitchen cart, sleigh bed, hope chest, dresser, crib, bar stools, dining, kitchen, coffee and end tables, cutting boards and ornaments. Items by welding students include a bird bath, wishing well, planter, coffee tables, arbor, windmill, bench, porch swing, flower display and decorative metal cutouts. Residential construction students will sell at least one barn-like storage unit displayed outside the Herrett Center. CSI Culinary Arts students will provide refreshments. Proceeds will go for material costs and funds for the clubs.

The third annual Great Basin Jazz Camp presents "An Evening of Big Band Music" at 6:30 p.m. JULY 31 at College of Southern Idaho's Fine Arts Center auditorium. The concert features world-renowned trombone soloist Bill Watrous performing with the students of the Great Basin Jazz Camp, and guitarist Bruce Forman and trumpeter Carl Saunders. Watrous lives in the Los Angeles area and is a professor of music at Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. He has been voted the "Number One Jazz Trombonist" in Downbeat Magazine's readers' poll seven years in a row and has won the Magazine's Critics Award twice. He has recorded 19 solo albums and has been a guest soloist on many albums by other jazz musicians. His album "The Tiger of San Pedro" was nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Performance by a Large Jazz Ensemble.
