The concert features world-renowned trombone soloist Bill Watrous performing with the students of the Great Basin Jazz Camp, and guitarist Bruce Forman and trumpeter Carl Saunders. Watrous lives in the Los Angeles area and is a professor of music at Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. He has been voted the "Number One Jazz Trombonist" in Downbeat Magazine's readers' poll seven years in a row and has won the Magazine's Critics Award twice. He has recorded 19 solo albums and has been a guest soloist on many albums by other jazz musicians. His album "The Tiger of San Pedro" was nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Performance by a Large Jazz Ensemble. Country music singer Blake Shelton will perform at 7:30 p.m. AUG. 28 in the Grandstand Arena at Western Idaho Fairgrounds. His album "Startin' Fires" was listed on Billboard's Top Country Albums. His single "Home"," added late to the "Pure BS" album and included in Shelton's Collector's Edition, went to number one on Billboard's country chart in July. The concert is free with gate admission.
