On Oct. 22-23, judges and officials from the 5th Judicial District hosted delegates from Korea who observed jury trials in the U.S. through the International Visitors Program of the National Center for State Courts.
The delegates observed judge and court staff in discussions, as the Korean Supreme Court is considering implementing jury trials. District Judge Randy Stoker explained the history and process of the jury system to the delegates and answered questions, while Twin Falls County Jury Commissioner Jerry Woolley explained the process of how juries are summoned and selected to serve.
Woolley and Administrative Assistant Shelli Tubbs treated the delegation to lunch and a brief tour of downtown Twin Falls.
