Jerome rec offers softball tourney

JEROME - The Jerome Recreation District is holding registration for the upcoming Summer Sizzler Co-ed Softball Tournament on July 18-19. The team fee is $180 with a three-game guarantee, and registration is due by 5 p.m., July 9. Information: 324-3389.

Burley JHS offers volleyball camp

BURLEY - Burley Junior High School is offering a girls volleyball camp on July 13-15 at the west gym. The cost is $50. The camp runs from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m., and campers will need to bring a lunch. Information: 670-3901 or 678-4600.

Minico summer volleyball camp upcoming

Former ISU players offer hoops camp

BURLEY - Former Idaho State University women's basketball players Ashley Toner-McNeal, also a Burley graduate, and Mandi Carver will host a offensive skills basketball camp Wednesday-Friday at the Burley High School gymnasium. Canyon Ridge soccer coach offers open field time

TWIN FALLS - Canyon Ridge High School boys varsity soccer coach Brian Gillenwater is offering open field time to any future Canyon Ridge students or Robert Stuart Junior High School students who may later wish to try out for the Riverhawks teams this fall. The open field runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday at Sunway Soccer Complex. There is no cost. Information: Brian Gillenwater at 208-871-7043.

MVTA hosts open tourney

TWIN FALLS - The Magic Valley Tennis Association will host its annual Magic Valley Open Tennis Tournament July 10-12. The tournament will include singles and doubles events for men and women from 2.5 to open level players. Mixed doubles events are for a 6.0 to 8.0 level combined team rating. Players are limited to two events and must be USTA members. Cash prizes will be awarded to first- and second-place winners in each division. The entry fee is $15 per person for doubles events and $20 per person for singles events. Firecracker run upcoming

TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho will host the Firecracker 5K and 10K event at 8 p.m., July 2 in the Expo Center parking lot. Registration is from 6:30-7:45 p.m., with the race at 8 p.m. and a barbecue to follow. Registration is $20 before June 26.

CSI hosting youth fitness camp

TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho will host a youth fitness and wellness camp from 8 a.m., to noon, July 6-10 at the Student Recreation Center on campus. The camp is open to all boys and girls entering kindergarten through sicth grade. Kids will participate in activities such as an outdoor adventure, yoga, judo, cooking and a scavenger hunt. Participants must be dressed in comfortable clothes and shoes, and a healthy snack will be provided. Cost is $50.

Jerome Chamber scramble upcoming

JEROME - The Jerome Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble will be held July 18 at Jerome Country Club. Shotgun start is at 8 a.m., with a barbecue immediately following the event. Cost is $55 per golfer, with teams of six.

TWIN FALLS - Registration for Magic Valley Junior Football is currently underway. Forms may be obtained at the Magic Valley Boys and Girls Club or at the Twin Falls Parks and Recreation office. There is a $55 fee and you must have a current physical on file. Registration is due by July 31 to avoid a $20 late fee.

Wake in the Snake coming

BURLEY - Idaho Water Sports' Wake in the Snake wakeboard competition, will be held starting at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, July 11 at Golf Course Marina in Burley. The cost is $35 to compete.

Gooding holds wrestling camp

GOODING - Gooding High School will offer a wrestling camp July 6-9 at Gooding Middle School. The camp is for all ages and will feature Boise State assistant wrestling coach Kirk White. A two-day camp for wrestlers in grades K-6 is $50. A four-day camp for wrestlers in grades 5 through 12 is $100. The deadline to register is June 20. Information: Clay Robinson at 316-3156.

CSI hosts volleyball tourney

TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho will host a 4-on-4 Coed Sand Volleyball Tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 11. All proceeds from the event will go to the Humane Society of Twin Falls.

Four-person teams may sign up the morning of the tournament at the sand volleyball court south of CSI's Eagle Hall Dorms. The format includes pool play followed by championship and consolation brackets with prizes awarded for the winning teams. The registration fee is $40 per team. Competitive baseball team seeks players

TWIN FALLS - A competitive summer baseball program for 13-year-old boys in the Magic Valley is being formed. The team will compete against squads from Idaho, Montana, Utah and other Western states as part of the Rocky Mountain School of Baseball program. Junior rodeo series offered

BUHL - The High Desert Junior Rodeo Association is offering a new rodeo series with divisions for boys ages 8 and under, boys and girls ages 9-13 and boys and girls 14-19. Rodeo dates include July 12 in Jerome and Aug. 15-16 in Filer. Events include barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, dummy roping, flag racing, figure eight racing, breakaway roping, ribbon roping, calf roping, team roping, steer riding and bull riding.
