Burley offers free golf lessons

BURLEY - In conjunction with the PGA's Play Golf American program, Burley Golf Course head pro Mike Williams will offer free 10-minute golf lesions from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. To reserve a time in advance, contact Burley Golf Course at 208-878-9807.

MTVA holds free tennis party

TWIN FALLS - The Magic Valley Tennis Association along with the Idaho Tennis Association will celebrate National Tennis Month with a free Tennis Block Party from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Twin Falls High School tennis courts. New players and those looking to get back to the game are invited to attend.

Activities include on-court instruction and drills with top local players. Tennis racquets and balls will be provided.

Athletic screenings offered in Mini-Cassia

BURLEY - Cassia Regional Medical Center will offer athletic physical screenings from 4:45-6 p.m., today. The cost is $10 and athletes should wear a clean T-shirt and shorts and bring a parent or guardian to sing permission slips and forms.

CSI holds annual golf scramble

TWIN FALLS - The 13th Annual College of Southern Idaho Lori Rogers Fly Like an Eagle Golf Tournament will be held Saturday at Twin Falls Municipal Golf Course. The entry fee for the five-person scramble is $80 per player or $400 per team and includes lunch and green fees (cart additional). Play begins with an 8 a.m., shotgun start.

Filer High holds physical night

FILER - Filer High School will offer athletic physicals on Wednesday, May 27. Twin Falls Orthopedics will provide the physicals and donate the $15 cost back to the school. Athletes in grades 5-7 and 8-9 should attend from 6-7 p.m., with grades 10-11 attending from 7-8 p.m. Participants should wear shorts, a T-shirt and shoes. Only cash will be accepted as payment.

Filer basketball camp planned

FILER - The Filer Boys and Girls Basketball Skills Camp will be held May 19-21 at the Filer High School gym. The cost is $30 per student. Grades 1-2 will attend from 3:15-4:15 p.m. each day in the elementary gym, with grades 3-5 attending from 3:30-5 p.m. at the high school and grades 6-9 attending from 5-6:30 p.m.

Burley GC hosts twilight scramble

BURLEY - Burley Golf Course will hold a 9-hole couples twilight scramble on Friday. The format is a four-person scramble with a 5:30 p.m. shotgun start, and the entry fee is $10. Green fee and cart fee is extra. There will also be a potluck dinner.

Gooding best-ball tourney nears

GOODING - The Kendrick Pharmacy/Gooding Country Club Two-man Best-ball Golf Tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday at Gooding Country Club. Entries will be accepted through today.

Buhl holding physical exams

BUHL - Buhl High School will hold an athletic physical night on Tuesday, May 19, for Buhl School District students wishing to participate in middle-school or high-school sports in Buhl next school year. Athletes in grades 7 through 9 next year will be seen from 6 to 7 p.m., and grades 10 through 12 will be seen from 7 to 8 p.m. Cost is $15. Information and physical forms can be obtained at Buhl High School or Buhl Middle School.

Gooding CC's twilight league to meet

GOODING - Gooding Country Club's women's Monday Night Twilight league will meet at 6 p.m., Monday.

Planet Cheer taking enrollment

TWIN FALLS -Planet Cheer is holding individual evaluations for those who missed tryouts. Spots are still available for ages 3-18 on the Tiny, Mini, Youth, Junior and Senior teams. We are currently looking to add kids to our Tiny, Mini, Youth, Junior and Senior Teams. No experience is necessary.

CSI holds 3-on-3 tourney

TWIN FALLS - The CSI Golden Eagle Challenge 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be held Saturday, May 30, in the Southeast parking lots at the College of Southern Idaho. The boys and girls divisions for ages 8-14 will check in at 8 a.m., with games at 9. Boys and girls ages 15-18 and the men's open division (ages 19 and up) will check in at noon with games at 1 p.m. The entry fee for the double-elimination tournament is $50 per team before noon on May 29 and $80 thereafter.
